The diploma course is a two
year course of lectures leading to the conferring of the diploma in
Legal Studies. Admission to the diploma course is confined to graduate
applicants and mature applicants.
The examination subjects in the diploma are:
Diploma in Legal Studies Year 1
Family law
Introduction to the legal system
Constitutional Law
Criminal law
Land law (including law of succession)
Law of contracts
Law of torts
Diploma in Legal Studies Year 2
Company law
Equity
Law of the European Union
Evidence
Jurisprudence
Human Rights Law
Admission to the
Barrister-at-Law degree course is via an entrance exam. To be eligible
to take the entrance exam a candidate must hold either an approved law
degree (see list of approved degrees in the education rules) or the
Society's diploma in Legal Studies.
