The ‘Bar Rising’ Dinner on Thursday, 24th March at 6.00pm

1916: Rebellion in Ireland
2016: Diversity and Equality in Ireland?

Join us for dinner at King’s Inns to mark the beginning of a new centenary, not to mention, a new political landscape.

We will bring together leading figures in law, politics, human rights, media and business to start a new conversation about diversity in Ireland’s future.

Our panel of distinguished leaders in social justice, human rights, law reform and political commentary will be moderated by Dearbhail McDonald, Group Business Editor of INM newspapers. The panel comprises Judge Mary Ellen Ring, High Court Judge and Chairperson GSOC, Noeline Blackwell, solicitor and new CEO of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, Emily Logan, Chief Commissioner of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission, Noel Whelan, Barrister, Author and Journalist, Paul Anthony McDermott Senior Counsel and media contributor, John Lonergan, former governor of Mountjoy Prison and top security prison, Portlaoise, now author, speaker and advocate on children’s issues.

This is a King’s Inns Student and not–for–profit initiative.

We will gather in the Great Hall to dine, discuss and review, among other things, the 32nd Dáil and the legislative reform expected of it.
