Council Elections 2021: Notice of Candidates Elected
Following the nomination process that took place between 9 November and 22 November 2021, the names stated on the declaration were proposed to fill the vacancies on both the Bar Benchers’ Panel and Practising Barristers’ Panel of the Council of King’s Inns.
Nominations are invited for the Bar Benchers’ Panel (6 Vacancies) and for the Practising Barristers’ Panel (5 Vacancies) of the Council of King’s Inns. Persons elected will serve for two years from 1 January 2022.

On Monday 4 October 2021, the Legal Services Regulatory Authority (LSRA) published its second complaints report for 2021, which shows it received 673 complaints about legal practitioners in a five–month period, with 646 complaints closed.

King’s Inns is delighted to participate in Calcutta Run, the Legal Fundraiser again this year. For 2021, we are working virtually as a collective to travel 30,000km over ten days, from Dublin to Cork, on to New York, next stop Olympic Tokyo, on to Kolkata, and finishing back in Dublin!

Update – degree of Barrister–at–Law course delivery 2021–2022
King’s Inns Entrance Examination 2021 for admission to the course leading to the degree of Barrister–at–Law will take place online this August. The format of the Entrance Examination 2021 is as published on King’s Inns website in March 2021.

The McCarthy Impromptu Debating Competition takes place on Monday, February 22, at 6.00 pm via Zoom. There will be two or three student debaters speaking (briefly) on a motion that will have been given to them earlier that day. Contributions to the debate are generally light–hearted and humorous.
