Irish manuscript on the lives of saints from the King’s Inns Library was recently digitised by Irish Script on Screen

Irish Script on Screen (ISOS) recently digitised another of the Irish manuscripts from the King’s Inns Library collection. MS 19 is an 18th work on the lives of saints bound in a home–made cover of cardboard and leather. It is one of the longest manuscripts in the collection with over 1,100 images required to display it on screen.

About Irish Script on Screen

Irish Script on Screen is a project which was initiated by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, in 1999. The aim of the project is to make Irish manuscripts available on the web for the purposes of information and research. ISOS provides access to important Irish texts to users throughout the world. On the other hand, it facilitates the preservation of these resources by reducing handling. The quality of the images is extremely high.

Since 2001, the ISOS partnership has grown to include collections from the National Libraries of Ireland and Scotland, Maynooth University, NUI Galway, TCD, UCC, UCD, and other smaller collections from Ireland and further afield. More details about the project is available here
