#BarrierstoLaw Survey

As part of a wider education equity initiative, Senator Ruane is currently working on a research project identifying barriers faced by students and graduates when progressing in the Law profession.

They began conducting research relating to obstacles and challenges law students and graduates face due to their disadvantaged backgrounds. It mainly targets those who have come through access programmes or DARE/HEAR schemes. The research is in consultation with The Bar of Ireland and AsIAm, Ireland’s National Autism Charity.

Part of this research includes the distribution of a survey (link below) that targets law students in their third–final years/graduates and those progressing through the legal discipline.

They particularly want to hear from students and graduates of Law that have come through access programmes, HEAR/DARE schemes and have encountered particular barriers that did not exist for their peers and colleagues.

You can contribute to the survey here.
