Entrance Examination

Requirements for Admission

Admission as a student to the degree course is by an entrance examination. To be eligible to sit this examination, a candidate must have submitted a satisfactory student admission declaration together with a transcript of all degree/diploma results on or before 31 May in the year in which an applicant intends to take the examination. In the case of an applicant who is currently sitting his/her final degree examination, a provisional application may be lodged conditionally and the result should be forwarded as soon as it becomes available but not later than 1 July. Moreover, an applicant should hold either an approved law degree/approved postgraduate diploma or the Society’s Diploma in legal Studies. The applicant must show that, in the course leading to the approved degree/postgraduate diploma, he/she has passed the following core subjects as required by the Society:

  • Land Law (including the Law of Succession)
  • Equity & Trusts
  • Jurisprudence
  • Company Law
  • Law of the European Union
  • Administrative Law

The Application Process

Application can be done through our online application portal. The closing date for receipt of application is May 31 2017. Late entries accepted until July 1 2017. The application form must be submitted electronically. The student admission declaration (download link above) must be signed and delivered to King’s Inns along with transcripts of degree results on or before 31 May in the year in which an applicant intends to take the examination.

Acceptance of Offers

Offers of places on the degree course must be accepted in accordance with the timeframe laid down by King’s Inns. Candidates to whom places are allocated will be notified as soon as is practicable. Such candidates will be required to submit an acceptance form and the appropriate fee within a specified period.
