The 13th edition of the International Bar Association International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition took place in The Hague from 12-19 June 2026.
The King’s Inns was represented by Caoimhe Ebbs, Saoirse Hyland, Ross Malervy, Colman Monaghan and Muireann Ní Shé who had spent the year preparing written memorials and practicing advocacy on international criminal law issues involving immunity of heads of state, the legality of rendition and attacks on vessels providing humanitarian aid.
The team placed 4th in the preliminary rounds, progressing through to the quarterfinals where they were knocked out in a very tight contest. Their hard work was rewarded when the team received two awards: second runner up Best Government team and second runner up Best Prosecution Counsel (Colman Monaghan).
The team were also delighted to accept an invitation to the Irish Embassy with the other Irish teams from the Law Society and University of Galway. Thank you to Barra Lysaght, Legal Adviser, for the lovey welcome and excellent lunch.
Congratulations to the team on their achievements!
