Applicants must indicate their preference for either the Full Time or Modular course when applying to do the entrance exam. Requests to transfer from the Full-Time course to the Modular course after their initial offer of a place has been received may not always be possible to accommodate due to group sizes or room/space requirements.

Payments

Course Payments

  • All application and tuition fee payments are made through the Application Portal. Your place on the course is not guaranteed until first tuition fee payment is made.

  • Part payments incur a facilitation fee for the Diploma and Degree courses, which is set out in your fee payment schedule on the Application Portal. We do not accept part payments for the Advanced Diploma courses. 

  • All student fees are required to be paid by the published dates. It is the responsibility of the applicant/ student to ensure their fees are paid in full by the due date.  If tuition fees have not been paid by the due date, access to King’s Inns classes, activities, Moodle and Office365 account will be suspended and the student will not be allowed to participate any further until the fees are paid.   A late payment fee of €200 per month or part thereof will be applied.  Examination and assessment results will not be released to students until all outstanding fees / penalties, library fines, or other monies that may be due have been paid to King’s Inns.

  • Payment can be made through the Application Portal using your credit / debit card, please make sure your bank allows you to process the full payment in one transaction, OR

  • If your employer is paying for your studies, you will require a valid PO number in advance of making the application, the name and email address for the person responsible for payment in your organisation. 

  • The invoice will issue directly to the person whose details you enter. The applicant will also be able to download a copy of the invoice through the Application Portal. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure their employer has paid in full within the timeframe required in order to secure a place. King’s Inns cannot contact your employer for payment, we can only liaise with the student.

  • Receipts for course payments can be found in your Application Portal account.

Late Payments

  • Late payments incur a late payment fee of €200 per month or part thereof. This is automatically added to your account until the outstanding fees are paid.

  • Please ensure you are aware of the final payment dates below.

Yes. Most of our courses are designed to accommodate working professionals.

Our Advanced Diploma programmes are flexible, part-time courses delivered either online or in person, with classes available in the mornings, evenings, or at weekends.

The Diploma in Legal Studies is a programme completed over two years. Students have the option of attending all lectures and tutorials online as well as in–person

For the Degree of Barrister-at-Law, you can choose the study option that best suits your schedule, with both full-time (1 year) or two-year modular pathways available.

The Diploma in Legal Studies and many of our Advanced Diploma programmes welcome professionals from all industries who wish to develop their knowledge or gain a better understanding of the law relevant to their work. No legal background or previous formal education is required.

The Degree of Barrister-at-Law requires applicants to hold a recognised legal qualification from an approved institution or course. Please refer to the Entrance Examination page for the full list of approved qualifications.
