Join us for our annual charity fundraising hike in Glendalough on Sunday, October 12, at 10 am. Enjoy nature and reward yourself with breathtaking views.
The hike is in support of the Capuchin Day Centre, and part of our AND BREATHE series. Come along and have a great day out with alumni, students and staff members – a great opportunity to get together as a community. Friends, family and pets are all welcome.
The event is free, but we encourage a minimum donation of €5.00 per child and €10.00 per adult in aid of the Capuchin Day Centre via the link below.
THE ROUTE
This year, we’ll be taking the Orange Route: The Derrybawn Woodland Trail
An 8km loop through Glendalough’s woodlands, the Orange Route takes about 2 hours to complete and offers a mix of forest paths and scenic views.
1. Location
Glendalough Valley is in the Wicklow Mountains National Park, about 2km from Laragh and just over an hour from Dublin by car.
2. Parking
Two main car parks (Upper and Lower) are available at Glendalough — both charge €4/day and have toilets and an info centre.
3. Length & Difficulty
8km with 160m ascent. A short but steep climb at the start, then mostly easy terrain. Suitable for anyone in reasonable fitness. Expect to finish in about 2 hours.
It is recommended to park at the Lower Lake Car Park, to be closer to our meeting point.
